Can bv cause fever and chills?

I was recently diagnosed with BV and received medication for it. However, I'm also experiencing some fever and chills now. I'm concerned if these could be related to the BV infection, or if it's something else entirely.

I was actually reading up on this recently out of curiosity. From what I found, standard BV doesn't usually cause a fever or chills. If you are having those, it might be something else entirely, so definitely get it checked.

Honestly I just recovered from BV last week and didn't have any fever at all, just irritation. But my gynecologist did mention that if I ever get fever or chills with pelvic pain, it means the infection is spreading and I should come back immediately. Please don't ignore this.

Beta, regular bacterial vaginosis is usually a local issue with discharge and itching, but not fever. If you are shivering and running a temperature, the infection might have traveled up. Go to a good gynaecologist today itself and get proper antibiotics prescribed.

Please be very careful with this, don't take it lightly. When I had a severe pelvic infection, it started with mild BV symptoms and then suddenly hit me with high fever and severe chills. I had to be hospitalized, so please book a doctor appointment right away.

Hey, don't stress too much, it's totally treatable! Usually, BV doesn't cause fever, so it might just be a viral flu happening at the same time. Just drink lots of water, rest up, and show a doc once to be 100% sure what's going on.

My girlfriend had this issue last month and her doctor clearly told her that BV alone won't give you chills or fever. If those symptoms are there, it could be pelvic inflammatory disease or something. Best to see a specialist fast.

Generally speaking, simple BV stays limited to the vaginal area and won't cause systemic symptoms like chills or a high temperature. If you have fever, it suggests the infection has reached the uterus or fallopian tubes, or there's some other issue. You need to see a gynecologist for a proper checkup and a course of prescription meds.

Whenever my wife has any gynecological doubts, we go straight to a proper hospital like Max or Apollo instead of guessing online. Fever with these symptoms isn't typical for basic BV. Do yourself a favor and get a proper diagnosis from a qualified doctor.
