Can burping cause vomiting?

Recently, I've been experiencing a lot of burping, especially after meals. Sometimes, when I burp forcefully, a little bit of food or liquid comes up, making me feel like I might vomit. Is it normal for burping to lead to actual vomiting?

Excessive burping can sometimes trigger a gag reflex or indicate acid reflux, which might lead to vomiting. If this is a frequent issue, it could point to GERD or gastritis. It is highly recommended to consult a doctor for a proper diagnosis.

In my seventy years, I have seen that heavy burping is just trapped gas, but if you force it, it can bring up food and cause vomiting. Eat slowly and avoid carbonated drinks. If your stomach remains upset, show it to a proper doctor.

Omg yes, sometimes when I have too much fizzy drink and try to burp, it feels like everything is coming up! It is probably just bad acidity or gas. Try having some Pudin Hara, but if it happens too much, definitely ask a doc.

Please don't ignore this. I used to burp a lot and ignore the vomiting feeling, but it turned out to be a severe ulcer that eventually caused complications. It's much safer to see a doctor and get it treated early.

Actually, heavy burping can pressure the esophageal sphincter, causing stomach acid to creep up and trigger vomiting, especially if you have a full stomach. Try eating smaller, slower meals and avoid lying down right after eating. If it keeps happening, check with a doctor.

Oh, that sounds so uncomfortable! Yes, sometimes a really hard burp can push up acid and make you feel like throwing up. Drink some cold water or ginger tea, it usually helps calm the stomach down quickly! 😊

Yes, severe acid reflux can cause both burping and vomiting. I have thyroid issues and have to get regular blood tests and follow up with my doctor to keep everything balanced, as hormonal changes can also affect digestion. Please consult a doctor if it persists.
