Can bronchitis turn into asthma?

For the past few years, I've been getting bronchitis quite frequently, especially during seasonal changes. My colleague mentioned that recurrent bronchitis can sometimes lead to asthma. Is this true?

No, bronchitis does not directly turn into asthma as they have different underlying causes. However, repeated bronchitis can mimic asthma symptoms or make sensitive airways react badly. A proper clinical evaluation is best to differentiate.

Having diabetes means I have to be very careful with lung infections. Bronchitis doesn't become asthma, but chronic inflammation is never good. Avoid self-medicating and consult a lung specialist.

I completely understand how scary it is when a cough doesn't go away and you start fearing the worst. I felt the exact same way. But they are distinct conditions, so a quick visit to the doc will really ease your mind.

Oh, I always worry about this too whenever I have a bad chest cold! It feels like my lungs are permanently damaged. But doctors say they are different, so please don't panic and just get a checkup.

Listen, don't worry. Bronchitis is usually a temporary infection, whereas asthma is a long-term airway sensitivity. They don't convert into each other, but you should still let a doctor listen to your chest to be safe.

Beta, maine apne jeevan mein bohot baar bronchitis dekha hai, par wo thik ho jata hai. Asthma alag bimari hai jo bachpan se ya allergy se hoti hai. Apne dhyan rakho, thand se bacho.

Hey, don't stress too much! They are separate issues, though they both make you cough like crazy. Just get a doctor's checkup done so you can get the right inhaler or syrup to feel better.

Please be careful with ongoing lung issues. I ignored my chronic cough thinking it was just bronchitis, and it turned out to be severe asthma that needed immediate clinical care. Do get a proper checkup.
