Can breast cancer cause shoulder pain?

A persistent pain in my right shoulder has bothered me for months now. My doctor is investigating, but someone suggested asking if breast cancer can sometimes manifest as shoulder pain.

My joints creak every morning, but shoulder pain can actually be a sneaky symptom if it is linked to breast issues. Sometimes lymph nodes under the arm get swollen and press on nerves, or it could just be a bad sleeping position. Better to let a doctor decide before you rub half a tube of Moov on it!

Excuse me, I didn't know shoulder pain could be connected to breast cancer. My mother has been complaining of shoulder stiffness for a while now. Should we consult an oncologist directly, or should we see a general physician first?

I had persistent left shoulder stiffness before my diagnosis, which turned out to be related to tumor pressure on the nerves. Don't panic, but don't ignore it either. Get a proper clinical breast exam and mammogram done to rule out any deep issues.

With hormonal issues, I always try to be cautious about jumping to conclusions since symptoms overlap so much. While shoulder pain can sometimes be a referred pain from breast tissue, it is usually muscle strain. Get a professional opinion just to be completely safe.

In the clinic, we see referred pain quite often. Breast tumors or affected lymph nodes can definitely cause pain that radiates to the shoulder or armpit. Please skip the self-medication and get a doctor to do a physical assessment.

If you are busy with work, don't keep delaying this thinking it is just office desk posture pain. Take half a day off this week and get a doctor's opinion. It is better to spend a few hours at the clinic now than face complications later.

I've been feeling a dull ache in my right shoulder and chest area for two weeks now and I'm honestly terrified. Has anyone else experienced shoulder pain as an early sign? I'm thinking of booking a scan tomorrow.

Look, simple muscle catch is one thing, but if the pain is continuous and there is any lump, don't sit on it. Go to a good hospital and get a mammography done. No point worrying or guessing at home when a simple test can give you the truth.

My doctor explained that breast cancer can cause shoulder pain either due to metastatic spread to the bones or simple nerve compression from enlarged axillary lymph nodes. It is a symptom that warrants a proper MRI or ultrasound of the area. Please consult your specialist soon.

Hey, take a deep breath. While shoulder pain can sometimes be linked to breast conditions, it is far more likely to be a simple muscle strain. Let's not assume the worst, but do make an appointment with a doctor this week to check it out safely.

In our days, we used warm sesame oil compresses for shoulder stiffness, which is good for general joint pain. However, if there is any suspicion of a breast condition, you must not rely on home remedies. Please visit a proper hospital and consult a specialist.

I totally understand how your mind immediately jumps to the worst thoughts when you feel unexplained pain. I used to lose sleep over every little ache. The best way to calm that anxiety is to get it checked by a doctor, so you aren't left guessing.
