Can braces help with sleep apnea?

My sleep apnea specialist mentioned a few treatment options for my condition. I recently heard someone talk about braces helping with sleep apnea. Is there any truth to this?

My cousin actually had mild sleep apnea because of a narrow jaw, and her orthodontist suggested expansion devices along with braces. It really helped widen her airway! It might not work for everyone, but it's definitely worth discussing with your dentist.

I used to wake up gasping for breath and panicked thinking I needed major surgery. But my dentist explained that correcting my deep bite with braces and a special night splint could help. It took time, but my sleep has improved so much!

Be careful with this. I got braces hoping it would help my snoring and sleep issues, but it didn't make a difference because my apnea was due to a nasal issue. You must consult a sleep specialist first before spending a lot of money on dental work.

Yes, they actually can help in some cases! If your sleep apnea is caused by a misaligned jaw or narrow arch, braces can work wonders to open up the airway. Definitely go get a consult, it could change your sleep completely!

I had a massive overbite and used to snore like crazy. Got braces to align my jaw and honestly, my breathing at night is so much smoother now. It's not a direct cure for everyone, but if your jaw is the issue, it definitely helps.

Sleep is vital for a peaceful mind and body. If structural issues in the mouth are blocking your breath, correcting them with braces can bring a lot of relief. Keep a positive mind and consult a kind doctor who can guide your healing journey.

Dekho, direct answer yeh hai ki braces har tareeqe ke sleep apnea ko theek nahi kar sakte. Agar jaw structure ki wajah se saans rukti hai, toh farq padega. Bina doctor se poochhe apna paisa aur time mat waste karna.

I ignored my heavy snoring for years thinking it was normal, until I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea. I wish I had checked earlier. If you have symptoms, please get a proper sleep study done first instead of just guessing if braces will solve it.

Braces can sometimes align the jaw to prevent the tongue from blocking the airway, but it's a long-term process. For quick relief, doctors usually recommend CPAP or specific oral appliances. Get a proper clinical assessment to see what fits your lifestyle.

I tried steam inhalation, side sleeping, and everything for my husband's snoring, but nothing worked. Finally, our dentist told us that his narrow lower jaw was the culprit, and braces could help widen the bite. It was a practical solution that actually gave results.
