Can bowel obstruction cause fever?

My neighbour has been experiencing severe abdominal pain and bloating, and the doctor suspects a bowel obstruction. She's also developed a high fever. Is fever a common symptom if someone has a bowel obstruction?

Yes, a bowel obstruction can absolutely cause a fever, and this is a major warning sign. A fever usually indicates that there is inflammation, tissue damage, or an infection/perforation in the gut. You must seek emergency medical care immediately.

If you have a suspected blockage and now a fever, don't try to save money on small clinic fees. It's better to go directly to a government hospital or a trust hospital where emergency scans like CT or ultrasound are done quickly and at lower costs.

Hey, if there is a fever along with a bowel blockage, it is actually a red flag. My aunt had this and we had to take her to the hospital immediately because it can mean the infection is spreading. Please get medical help right now.

In our family, we usually try simple herbal decoctions for stomach pain, but my mother always says that if a fever starts with a severe stomach issue, home remedies must stop. A fever with a blockage means you must go to a good hospital immediately.

Haan, bilkul ho sakti hai fever. Agar blockage ki wajah se andar infection ho raha hai toh bukhar toh aayega hi na. Isko bilkul halkey mein mat lo aur turant doctor ke paas jao, ghar pe baithne ka time nahi hai yeh.

Yes, it can, and it's a very serious symptom. When my father had severe abdominal pain, we rushed him to a multi-specialty hospital, and the doctors there clearly explained that fever with a blockage means urgent care is needed. Ask your doctor for a proper diagnosis.
