Can blood work detect ovarian cancer?

My aunt was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which was quite shocking. I'm concerned about myself now. Can regular blood work detect ovarian cancer, or are there specific markers to look for?

Ho na, actually blood test mein ek CA-125 marker hota hai, par woh humesha 100% correct nahi hota. My friend had to do an ultrasound and CT scan too for a proper checkup. Please consult a good gynaecologist soon.

Google search will make you believe even a simple sneeze is a major issue! Blood tests like CA-125 can give hints, but they aren't magic crystal balls. Just visit a real doctor and save yourself from internet-induced panic.

When my daughter was facing severe abdominal pain, they did a blood test called CA-125 along with a pelvic ultrasound. The blood test alone is not enough for diagnosis, but it helps doctors understand the situation better. Please take her to a specialist.

Hey, please don't stress too much! Yes, there is a blood test called CA-125 that doctors use, but it can be elevated for simple reasons like cysts or periods too. Just go see a gynaecologist and they will guide you properly.

I completely understand the anxiety you must be feeling while waiting for these answers, it can be so overwhelming. While blood work like CA-125 can raise flags, doctors always require pelvic scans or MRIs to confirm anything. Please talk to your doctor to ease your mind.

Ovarian cancer screening often involves checking the CA-125 marker in the blood. However, since its specificity is low, doctors combine it with transvaginal ultrasound. It's best to track your symptoms and get a comprehensive evaluation from a gynecologist.

My doctor just ordered a CA-125 blood test because of my ovarian cyst, and I am so terrified right now. Has anyone else had a slightly elevated report that turned out to be completely normal? Please share your experience.

Hey. Blood tests like CA-125 are definitely used to help detect ovarian cancer, but they can also be high due to non-cancerous conditions like endometriosis. A proper diagnosis always requires imaging like an ultrasound. Definitely consult your doctor.
