Can blood test reveal lung cancer?

My uncle, who smoked for years, was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. I'm a smoker too and it's got me worried. Is there any specific blood test that can reveal lung cancer early?

I was also wondering about this. Can a simple routine blood test catch it, or do we need specific scans like CT scans? My grandfather has a persistent cough, so I am a bit worried.

A standard blood test cannot diagnose lung cancer, though it can show signs of inflammation or general health status. Diagnosing lung cancer typically requires imaging like CT scans or biopsies. It is best to consult a pulmonologist for proper evaluation.

In my experience, when my brother had breathing issues, the routine blood tests were all normal. It was only after the chest X-ray and CT scan that the doctors could find the tumor. Please don't rely only on blood tests; consult a specialist.

I agree with the others. Blood tests only show overall health, not cancer. Please see a chest specialist immediately if there are symptoms like a chronic cough or chest pain.

I have been having this persistent dry cough and I am so scared it might be something serious. I got a complete blood count done, but it was normal. Does a normal blood report mean I am completely safe, or should I be getting more tests done?
