Can blood pressure cause a heart attack?

My blood pressure has been quite high lately, and my doctor has been stressing the importance of controlling it for my heart health. Can high blood pressure directly cause a heart attack if it's left uncontrolled?

Yes, high blood pressure puts immense strain on the arteries and heart over time, which can eventually lead to a heart attack. I constantly monitor my husband's and my elder son's BP because of this risk. Please make sure to get regular checkups and keep sodium low.

Yes, scientifically, hypertension causes arterial stiffness and plaque buildup, which can rupture and block blood flow, causing a myocardial infarction. My cardiologist always emphasizes that managing BP with proper medication and lifestyle changes is crucial to reducing this risk.

My father was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure and I am very worried about this. Does taking daily BP medication completely prevent the risk of a heart attack, or do we need to do other tests too? Please guide me.

Absolutely, high BP is a silent killer. With our stressful work lives, it is easy to ignore, but it directly increases heart attack risk. Get a quick annual health checkup done and manage your stress levels before it is too late.

Uncontrolled high blood pressure is one of the leading causes of heart attacks. It damages the arteries and makes it easier for blockages to form. For your own safety, please visit a doctor and get your BP monitored regularly.

Yes, high blood pressure damages your blood vessels, which can lead to cardiovascular events. Along with whatever medicine your doctor prescribes, doing 30 minutes of brisk walking daily and eating a clean diet can help naturally lower your numbers.

Yes, chronic hypertension weakens your blood vessels and makes your heart work double time, which can trigger an attack. Don't skip your BP meds even for a day, and keep a digital BP monitor at home to keep track.
