Can bloating cause nausea and vomiting?

Sometimes when I get really bloated, I also start feeling nauseous and even a bit like I might vomit. Is this a normal reaction to severe bloating? Can bloating actually cause nausea and vomiting?

Hey, don't stress too much! When your stomach is super bloated and filled with gas, it can definitely make you feel nauseous and even vomit. Just rest up, sip on some warm water, and if it doesn't get better by tomorrow, just call a doctor, okay?

Whenever I eat highly oily street food, my stomach swells up terribly with bloating. Soon after, the nausea kicks in and sometimes I end up vomiting to get some relief. I always have to be careful with what I eat.

I was just reading an article about this because my roommate had bloating and threw up last night. It turns out that when stomach pressure increases from trapped gas, it can easily trigger nausea. It is comforting to know it's a known symptom!

Hey, take a deep breath. It is very common to feel sick to your stomach when you are heavily bloated, so don't let your mind race. Sip some warm water slowly and avoid eating heavy food. If you vomit more than twice, we should get you checked by a physician.

I completely panicked the first time this happened to me, thinking it was food poisoning or worse. But my doctor reassured me that severe gas and bloating can push against the diaphragm and trigger a vomiting reflex. It's actually quite common, so try to relax.

My mother always tells me to drink ginger tea when I feel bloated and nauseous. While these home tips offer some comfort, I always consult our family doctor if the vomiting starts, as it's better to be safe with stomach issues.

Yes, I agree, severe bloating definitely triggers nausea. Drinking warm water slowly usually helps settle my stomach when this happens.

Haan yaar, jab pet me bohot zyada gas ban jati hai na, toh ulti jaisa lagna bilkul normal hai. Par agar baar-baar ulti ho rahi hai, toh ghar pe mat baitho. Ek baar doctor ko dikha lo taaki hydration thik rahe.

I have dealt with chronic gastric issues for years, and bloating-induced nausea is very real. My tip is to avoid heavy dairy and pulses when your stomach feels tight. Also, never lie down immediately after eating, walk for at least fifteen minutes.

Yes, extreme gas buildup can slow down digestion and lead to nausea or vomiting. If you can't keep liquids down or if the vomiting is continuous, please don't wait at home. Get an antiemetic prescribed by a doctor to stop the dehydration.
