Can bloating cause back pain?

Lately, I've been dealing with a lot of bloating in my stomach, and I've also noticed my lower back has started hurting. I'm wondering if there's a link between these two issues. Can bloating actually cause back pain?

Yes, when gas builds up in the abdomen, it can put pressure on the lower back muscles and cause mild aching. Gently practicing Pawanmuktasana or simple deep pranayama breathing helps release this trapped air and relieves both stomach and back discomfort.

Ah, the joys of turning fifty! One heavy dinner of chole and my back starts aching like I lifted heavy weights at the gym. It is actually just gas pressure reflecting in the back. A walk and some digestive powder usually saves me.

Yes, referred pain is real. My gastroenterologist explained that gas accumulation can distend the stomach and irritate the nerves that share pathways with your back muscles. However, if the back pain is severe or accompanied by fever, you must consult a physician to rule out kidney stones.

I am feeling this right now and I thought I pulled a muscle while sleeping. Is it common for bloating to cause back pain that comes and goes, or is it usually constant? I am quite confused about this connection.
