Can bloating cause abdominal pain?

I get a lot of bloating, especially after certain foods, and then I often experience quite a bit of abdominal pain. Are these two connected? Can bloating directly cause stomach pain?

Yes, absolutely! When gas gets trapped inside, it stretches the stomach and can hurt quite a bit 😣. A quick cup of warm mint tea or walking around always helps me clear it up. Hope you feel better soon! 👍

I literally went through this last week and the pain was so sharp I thought it was an emergency. My doctor checked me and said it was just severe bloating and gas pressure. He advised me to eat smaller meals and avoid drinking fizzy sodas.

I have been feeling a very tight, dull ache in my upper belly after lunch, and I think it is bloating. Does the pain usually stay in one place, or does it move around the stomach? I am a bit scared to go to the clinic.

It is honestly so frustrating because people think bloating is just a small thing, but the abdominal pain can be genuinely debilitating and ruin your whole day. I used to cry from the discomfort. Please don't suffer in silence, talking to a doctor really helped me find the right cure.

Definite yes. My fitness tracker showed my stress levels were peak high when my gut was acting up with bloat-induced pain. Try tracking your food intake on an app to see which meals trigger this abdominal discomfort, and share that data with your doctor.
