Can black skin get skin cancer?

I always thought that only fair-skinned people were at risk for skin cancer, but then I saw some awareness campaigns. Can individuals with black skin tones also develop skin cancer? I'm just curious about this.

I was actually researching this online yesterday because I assumed dark skin was totally safe. Turns out, dark skin has more melanin which protects against UV rays, but skin cancer can still happen, often on areas like soles and palms. It's really eye-opening.

Yes, absolutely, skin cancer doesn't completely skip anyone! Even with beautiful dark skin, we still need to take care of ourselves, wear sunscreen, and not ignore any new or weird-looking moles. Better to be safe than sorry, right?

Our elders always said that people with darker skin don't have to worry about the hot sun. But the big city doctors say that disease can touch anyone. Please take care of your health and get any strange skin changes checked.

Our bodies are beautiful vessels, and regardless of the color we are blessed with, they require mindful care. Skin cancer can indeed occur in darker skin types too. Bless yourself with healthy habits, stay positive, and consult a healer or doctor when your body signals a change.

Hey, it is a very common myth that dark skin can't get skin cancer, but please don't fall for it. While the risk is lower compared to fair skin, it is still very real and can be serious if ignored. Just stay aware of your body and consult a dermatologist if you spot anything unusual.

Please never assume a symptom is nothing just because of your skin tone. I once ignored a growing dark patch thinking it was just a normal mark, and ended up with a painful infection and deep regret. Go to a dermatologist and get any suspicious spot checked immediately.

Yes, indeed! ☀️ Darker skin has awesome natural protection, but it is not 100% immune to skin cancer. Always a good idea to wear your SPF and keep your skin happy and healthy! 😊
