Can birth control give you pcos?

My friend recently started birth control pills, and she mentioned something about them potentially causing PCOS. I'm a little confused, can birth control actually lead to PCOS or is it the other way around? Just trying to understand this better.

Don't fall for these social media myths saying pills cause PCOS. That's not how it works. Go talk to an actual endocrinologist or gynecologist to get the real medical facts.

No, it doesn't cause PCOS. It can sometimes hide the symptoms while you are on it, but it is safe. Take care of yourself.

Absolutely not, it doesn't cause PCOS. What actually happens is that when you stop the pill, your natural cycles take time to return, making people think the pill caused it. Focus on a good diet and give your body some time.

I used to worry about this too! But the pill actually just manages PCOS symptoms, it doesn't create the condition. Try to keep your stress low and eat a balanced diet instead of worrying about this myth.

Don't worry at all! Birth control cannot give you PCOS. It is usually a genetic or lifestyle thing. Keep smiling and talk to your doc if you are confused! 😊

Bro, my girlfriend was super stressed about this last month. We googled it and then asked her doctor, who basically laughed and said it's a total myth. You're completely safe!
