Can being too hot cause vomiting?

It's really hot these days, especially when I'm out for work, and sometimes I feel very nauseous and even like vomiting. Does extreme heat exposure cause this kind of sickness?

Please don't rely on random internet advice if you are vomiting due to heat. While mild heat exhaustion can cause nausea, severe heat stroke can be life-threatening and causes vomiting too. You should immediately verify with a doctor instead of trying home remedies.

I absolutely panicked last summer when I threw up after walking in the afternoon sun. I thought it was something major, but my doctor reassured me it was just heat exhaustion from dehydration. Drink some ORS and rest in a cool room, you'll be fine.

Yes, extreme heat can sometimes lead to nausea and vomiting as your body struggles to cool down. However, I am not a medical professional, so if the vomiting doesn't stop or if you feel extremely dizzy, please seek proper medical care right away.

Yes, heat exhaustion can trigger vomiting. Since you can't afford to lose work days, get in a cool environment immediately, sip electrolyte water, and take rest. If you don't feel better within a couple of hours, go to a clinic to avoid severe dehydration.

In all my years of living in hot climates, I have seen many people throw up after being out in peak summer heat. It is your body's way of saying it has overheated. Just rest under a fan, wipe your skin with a cool cloth, and sip water slowly.

Yes, excessive internal heat (pitta) can upset your stomach and cause vomiting. I find practicing Shitali pranayama (cooling breath) very helpful in gently lowering the body temperature. Drink cool water, but please see a doctor if you are unable to keep any fluids down.
