Can bacterial vaginosis cause pain?

I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis a few weeks ago, and besides the other symptoms, I've been feeling a lot of discomfort and even some pain down there. Is it normal for bacterial vaginosis to cause pain?

My grandmother used to say simple washing with warm water helps, but BV is a proper infection that requires medical attention. It can cause burning and pelvic pain, especially during urination or intimacy. Please visit a gynecologist to get the right antibiotic gel or tablets.

In my experience, BV caused a really uncomfortable burning pain and soreness, rather than sharp pain. It was very annoying to deal with. It only cleared up once I completed the antibiotic course my gynecologist prescribed.

Yeah, it actually can. I had it during my semester exams and the constant irritation and burning pain was so distracting. Don't feel awkward about it, just book an online consultation with a gynecologist, it gets sorted really quickly.

Hey, don't stress too much! BV is super common and almost every woman goes through it at some point. The discomfort and mild pelvic ache can happen, but a simple week of antibiotics from your gynecologist will have you feeling normal in no time.

Yes, beta. It can cause a lot of local soreness, burning, and abdominal discomfort if left untreated. In my experience, it is best not to wait and suffer. See a lady doctor soon, she will give you a simple treatment to clear it up.
