Can bacterial infection cause vomiting?

I've been feeling quite unwell with flu-like symptoms and some vomiting for the last two days. The doctor said it might be a bacterial infection. Can a bacterial infection really cause vomiting like this?

Ho na, bacterial infections like food poisoning can definitely cause severe vomiting. My daughter had a stomach infection last month and she couldn't keep even water down. Please consult a doctor soon, dehydration can happen very fast.

Yes, a bacterial infection can certainly make you vomit. Please rest, try to take small sips of ORS to stay hydrated, and see a doctor as soon as possible.

I know how scary it is when you start vomiting and your mind immediately races to all the worst-case scenarios. It is totally normal to feel anxious, but most bacterial infections are easily treated with proper antibiotics from a doctor. Take a deep breath and go get checked.

I was just reading about this because stomach flu and bacterial gastroenteritis both cause heavy vomiting. Apparently, the toxins produced by bacteria irritate the gut lining, triggering the brain's vomiting center. Has anyone here had to get a stool test to confirm the type of bacteria?

Yes, bacterial infections like H. pylori or Salmonella cause severe vomiting. The key is to never self-medicate with random antibiotics because it can make the gut flora worse. Go to a physician, get a blood or stool test, and complete the full course of medicine they prescribe.

I've been vomiting since morning and have a mild fever, and I am super worried it is a bad bacterial infection. Did anyone else have these symptoms? Did you guys need hospital admission or did normal medicines work?

For mild stomach upset, drinking light ginger water or coconut water can help soothe the stomach. But if it is a confirmed bacterial infection causing constant vomiting, natural remedies won't be enough. You must see a doctor for proper antibiotics.
