Can asthma turn into copd?

My friend's father had asthma for many years, and eventually, his doctors said it had turned into COPD. I've had asthma for a long time too, and this news makes me worried. Is it possible for asthma to eventually turn into COPD?

While they are different conditions, long-term untreated asthma can sometimes cause permanent changes in the lungs that look like COPD. Gentle deep breathing exercises like Pranayama can help keep your airways supple, but do keep up with your regular doctor visits.

My son's pediatrician explained that asthma and COPD are separate, but if asthma is poorly managed over many years, it can lead to chronic airway damage. That is why keeping asthma controlled with proper daily preventer inhalers is so important.

I've learned to be very cautious with chronic conditions. While I don't know the exact science, my doctor mentioned that unmanaged chronic inflammation—like in asthma—can cause long-term lung issues. It's always best to have a specialist monitor your lungs regularly.

Please don't worry excessively, but take this seriously. They are different diseases, but chronic asthma that isn't managed well can cause permanent airway narrowing. Keep taking your prescribed inhalers regularly to protect your lungs for the long term.

They are distinct medical conditions, but poorly controlled asthma can definitely lead to permanent lung remodeling over time. Especially if you smoke, the risk of developing overlapping COPD is high. Get a pulmonologist to review your lung function regularly.

Actually yaar, they are two different things, but untreated asthma can cause permanent damage to your lungs later in life. If you smoke on top of having asthma, that's a direct invite to COPD. Better to get regular lung checks done.

They are different, but severe asthma can weaken the lungs over the years. Drinking warm turmeric milk can help reduce general inflammation, but for serious breathing issues, you must always follow your chest specialist's advice.
