Can asthma make your chest hurt?

During my asthma attacks, I feel a sharp, squeezing pain in my chest, almost like a heavy weight. I know breathlessness is common, but this pain worries me. Is it possible for asthma to cause chest pain?

I was reading about this because my friend has asthma, and apparently, the constant coughing and straining of chest muscles can cause pain. However, chest pain can also be due to other serious reasons, so it is always best to check with a doctor.

Yes, muscle strain from coughing can cause chest pain, but please get it checked by a doctor to be absolutely safe.

I literally panic every time my chest hurts, thinking it is something dangerous. While it might just be the asthma muscles straining, the anxiety is so real. Please see a doctor right away to get a clear answer so you don't have to keep worrying.

Bro, I get major soreness in my chest when I'm wheezing a lot, feels like I did a heavy chest day at the gym. But if the pain is sudden or very sharp, don't take a risk—just go to the doctor or hospital straight away.

Yes, the strain from coughing or tight airways can definitely cause chest soreness. But please remember, any new or severe chest pain should never be ignored. It's best to visit a clinic immediately to rule out any other issues.
