Can asthma cause stuffy nose?

Sometimes, when my asthma symptoms are bad, I also get a really stuffy nose and it becomes hard to breathe through it. I always thought a stuffy nose was more for a cold. Can asthma be the reason for a constantly stuffy nose?

I was just diagnosed with allergic asthma and my nose is constantly blocked now. Is a stuffy nose normal with asthma, or should I be looking into sinus treatments as well?

Yes, it is very common because allergic rhinitis and asthma usually go hand-in-hand. Using a saline nasal spray can help clear the congestion without any side effects, but check with your doctor first.

Bro, my nose is permanently blocked during allergy season and it instantly triggers my wheezing. Taking a hot steam run before sleeping is the only way I can get any rest.

My chronic stuffy nose turned out to be severe nasal polyps that made my asthma way worse. Please see an ENT specialist or pulmonologist if your nasal block doesn't go away with basic steam.

I know how frustrating it is to not be able to breathe through your nose or chest. Drinking warm water with a bit of ginger and taking eucalyptus steam always helps me clear the block quickly.

Yes, upper and lower airways are connected. Practicing very gentle Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) daily has really helped me keep my nasal passages clear and reduce my asthma attacks.

I used to feel so suffocated and anxious when my nose got stuffed on top of my asthma tightness. It is a very common dual reaction, so try to stay calm and use your prescribed nasal spray.
