Can asthma cause nausea and vomiting?

For the past few months, after a particularly bad asthma attack, I sometimes feel so sick that I actually throw up. It's really bothering me because I already feel breathless. Can asthma really lead to both nausea and vomiting?

Oh, coughing up phlegm on an empty stomach during a morning asthma flare-up is a total nightmare! I have to avoid heavy, greasy parathas when my chest is tight, otherwise my stomach gets super upset and everything comes up.

When my asthma triggers a severe, continuous dry cough, my body's natural gag reflex kicks in and I end up vomiting. It usually only happens during very intense attacks when my chest is highly congested.

My doctor at Apollo explained that some asthma inhalers can relax the gastric sphincter, leading to acid reflux and vomiting. I highly recommend discussing your medication side effects clearly with your doctor during your next visit.

Dude, coughing so hard that you actually puke in the college washroom is so embarrassing. It’s definitely a thing with severe asthma attacks, the abdominal pressure is just too much to handle.

In my fifty years of dealing with asthma, I have faced this many times during cold winters. Rest your chest, avoid heavy foods during a flare-up, and remember that once your breathing is controlled, the vomiting will stop.

Beta, the heavy coughing shakes up the stomach. Take a little lick of ginger juice mixed with honey after your cough stops, it will soothe your throat and stop that vomiting feeling. Take care of yourself.

Between coughing all night, dealing with a racing heart, and then vomiting my dinner up at 3 AM, my life is a comedy show right now, haha! Keeping some dry crackers by my bedside has been a lifesaver.

Hey, don't stress too much about it, it's just your body reacting to the extreme coughing strain. Sit down, sip some warm water, and focus on your inhaler. If you can't keep any food down, then definitely see your doc, okay?
