Can asthma cause lightheadedness?

Sometimes when I'm having trouble breathing during an asthma flare-up, I also feel really lightheaded, like I might faint. It's quite scary. Can asthma cause lightheadedness, or should I be looking into other reasons for this?

Yes, absolutely. The low oxygen levels during an attack can make you dizzy. Keep your rescue inhaler handy and sit down immediately if you start feeling lightheaded.

Feeling dizzy and out of breath at the same time used to give me massive anxiety attacks, making me feel so helpless. It is a very scary cycle, but learning that it's a common physical response really helped me stay calmer during episodes.

When my breathing gets restricted during high-intensity training, my oxygen drops and I feel super lightheaded. I have to dial back the workout, focus on slow nose breathing, and stay well hydrated. Listen to your body and don't push through dizziness.

Between coughing all night and the dizziness from not getting enough oxygen, I walk around looking like a zombie, haha! If you are getting lightheaded, sit down before you end up on the floor, trust me on this.

Haan, jab chest bohot tight ho jati hai toh dizzines lagne lagti hai na. Oxygen thoda kam hota hai brain mein. Try focusing on purse-lipped breathing and if it stays, consult your doc immediately.
