Can asthma cause back pain?

Lately, especially after a bad coughing spell during my asthma, I've been having some back pain. It feels like a dull ache. Could it be related? Can asthma cause back pain, or is it just a separate issue I'm having?

Yes, continuous coughing and labored breathing can really strain your back and chest muscles. I find that doing light stretching and regular walking keeps my core muscles strong and reduces this strain, but only do it if your doctor says your lungs are stable.

My doctor explained that during an asthma flare-up, we use 'accessory muscles' in our neck, chest, and back to pull in air. Overuse of these muscles leads to muscle fatigue and soreness, which feels like back pain. If the pain is sudden or severe, it's vital to get it checked immediately.

With my high BP and mild asthma, I have to be very careful. Heavy coughing fits definitely strain my back, but I always make sure to monitor my vitals. If you have back pain along with chest tightness, get your BP and lungs checked by a physician to be safe.

Whenever my back starts aching during a wheezing episode, I get so scared thinking it's something serious with my lungs or heart. It turns out that the intense effort to breathe just exhausts the upper back muscles. Please consult a doctor to get some peace of mind.

Yes, coughing continuously puts a lot of pressure on your back. A simple remedy is applying a warm compress or using a pain relief gel on the back, but the real solution is managing the asthma itself so you don't cough so much.

I have dealt with this for years. The back pain is almost always muscular strain from hyperinflated lungs and coughing. My tip is to sit straight with pillow support and focus on your inhaler treatment first; once the breathing settles, the back pain naturally goes away.

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai na. Jab saans lene ke liye poori body zor lagati hai, toh back aur ribs mein dard hone lagta hai. Warm water se bath lo aur thoda rest karo, kafi relief milega.

Dude, totally. After a night of heavy wheezing and coughing, my upper back feels like I did a crazy workout at the gym. It's just muscle soreness from all that coughing. Standard warm water bag helps a lot to soothe it.
