Can asthma be caused by second hand smoke?

My neighbour smokes a lot on their balcony, and sometimes the smoke drifts into my apartment. I've been getting more breathless lately. Can asthma be caused by second-hand smoke, even if I don't smoke myself?

Oh, definitely! Passive smoking is like getting all the damage of smoking without even enjoying the puff. If someone is smoking near you, just run the other way or make them leave. Your lungs will thank you, and so will your wallet!

Everyone on the internet has an opinion on asthma triggers, but you should not rely on random forums. Second-hand smoke is a known irritant that can trigger severe flare-ups, but go talk to a real pulmonologist to understand your specific allergy and lung condition.

The air we breathe should be pure and life-giving, but unfortunately, second-hand smoke pollutes our space and harms the lungs. Try to stay in positive, clean environments and practice gentle breathing. Take care of your health with patience and peace.

It absolutely does, especially if you have sensitive airways. A simple solution is to make your home a strict no-smoking zone and use a basic air purifier if you live in a polluted area. It is a small investment but saves a lot of doctor visits.

Yes, passive smoke is a big trigger for asthma attacks! 😷 Try to avoid standing near smoking zones at tea stalls or offices. Keep your inhaler handy and stay safe out there! 😊

Bro, my college roommate used to smoke inside the room and my asthma got so bad I had to shift out. Passive smoke is no joke, it literally clogs your chest. Stay away from people smoking if you want to breathe normally.

My doctor at the hospital explicitly told me that passive smoke exposure is just as bad as active smoking for asthma patients. It causes long-term airway inflammation. You should schedule an appointment with a specialist to get a proper treatment plan if you are exposed to smoke regularly.

Yes, second-hand smoke is a very common trigger that worsens asthma. Try wearing a good mask when you are in crowded public spaces to protect your airways.
