Can asthma attack go away on its own?

Sometimes when I get a mild asthma attack, it feels like it just goes away on its own after a while, especially if I try to relax. My mother says I should always use my inhaler. Can an asthma attack really go away on its own without medication?

I always worry about this because sometimes I feel a mild tightness and just try to wait it out without my inhaler. Does anyone else get super anxious waiting for it to pass naturally? It feels so risky to just sit there hoping it goes away on its own.

Please do not make the mistake of waiting for it to go away. I once ignored a mild attack thinking it would settle, and ended up in the ICU with severe respiratory failure. Asthma is highly unpredictable, so please visit a doctor and always use your prescribed reliever inhaler.

Hoping it goes away to avoid spending on doctor visits and spirometry tests is a bad plan, because emergency hospital ICU bills are ten times costlier. It is much better to plan your budget for a regular specialist consultation and keep cheap, effective generic inhalers at home. Prevention is always cheaper than emergency care.

Even if it feels like it is getting better, an untreated attack can leave your airways highly inflamed and vulnerable to a bigger trigger later. It is much safer to get a proper checkup. A doctor can check your lung function and tell you exactly what to do.

Listen, sometimes a very mild wheeze might feel like it's settling, but a real asthma attack will not just disappear on its own safely. Don't take a chance with your breathing, okay? Keep your inhaler with you, sit straight, and if it feels heavy, call a doctor immediately.

Haan na, self-healing ke chakkar mein risk nahi lena chahiye. Sometimes we think thoda rest karenge toh thik ho jayega, but breathing is a serious thing. Always use the inhaler doc gave you, don't wait for it to magically disappear.
