Can asthma attack cause high blood pressure?

During my last severe asthma attack, I noticed my blood pressure was really high when the paramedics checked it. Is that just a coincidence, or can an asthma attack actually cause high blood pressure to spike temporarily?

Honestly, during an asthma attack your body gets into complete panic mode, so blood pressure can shoot up. I try warm ginger water and breathing slowly to calm down, but if the BP stays high or you can't breathe, please don't wait. Keep your inhaler close and go to a doctor if it doesn't settle quickly.

I always get so stressed thinking about this because my heart starts racing like crazy during an attack. When you can't breathe, your body releases so much adrenaline that the BP is bound to spike. I always keep my digital BP monitor ready, but sometimes checking it just makes me more anxious! Please talk to your doc to be safe.

Usually, steam inhalation and sipping hot water can relax the airways a little during mild congestion. But high blood pressure during a proper asthma attack is a serious matter and needs immediate medical attention. Do not try any home remedies if you are actively struggling to breathe, just go to the hospital.

Actually, I just came home from the hospital last week after a severe asthma episode where my BP shot up drastically. The doctors explained that the sheer struggle to breathe puts immense strain on the heart, raising the pressure. Don't ignore it, get your lungs checked properly so it doesn't happen again.

Bro, absolutely. Last year I had a bad attack and they checked my BP at the clinic, it was touching 150. The doctor said the body goes into fight-or-flight mode when you gasp for air. Once the inhaler worked and my breathing got normal, the BP came down automatically.

Yes, they are definitely linked because the body lacks oxygen during an attack, which raises BP. Please consult your physician to adjust your asthma dosage to keep both under control.
