Can asthma appear later in life?

I'm 70 years old, and lately, I've started having trouble breathing, especially at night. My daughter-in-law says it sounds like asthma, but I've never had it before. Can asthma appear later in life, or is it usually something you get when you're young?

Our bodies go through many changes as we age, and sometimes respiratory sensitivities can develop later in life. Keep your home environment clean and dust-free, practice gentle breathing exercises, and consult a kind doctor to guide your healing journey.

Yes, adult-onset asthma is very real. I've seen people develop it due to pollution or allergies in their 30s. If your doctor allows, keep doing light walking in clean air to maintain your lung capacity, but definitely get a formal checkup done.

I totally get it, suddenly having breathing trouble when you've been healthy your whole life is so scary and confusing. It is actually quite common to develop asthma as an adult. Please visit a doctor so they can help you manage it comfortably.

Yes, adult-onset asthma is a recognized medical condition. My doctor explained that unlike childhood asthma, adult asthma can be triggered by allergies, hormones, or environmental factors and often requires continuous management. A spirometry test is necessary for an accurate diagnosis.

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai. Delhi ki pollution ki wajah se many adults are developing asthma nowadays, na. If you are having a persistent cough or wheezing, don't ignore it thinking it's just a normal cold. Go see a specialist.

I was reading some medical articles yesterday, and they say women are actually more likely to develop asthma later in life than men, often due to hormonal shifts. It's quite surprising how it can just appear out of nowhere.

It definitely can. Adult-onset asthma can trigger due to occupational dust, stress, or even severe viral infections. Focus on anti-inflammatory foods and check with a pulmonologist to get a proper lung function test done.
