Can arthritis come on suddenly?

My father woke up yesterday with terrible pain and swelling in his knee, almost out of nowhere. We thought it might be an injury, but now he's worried it's arthritis. Does arthritis usually start so suddenly, or does it develop over time?

Hey, don't stress too much. While osteoarthritis builds up slowly, inflammatory types like gout or rheumatoid arthritis can actually hit you very suddenly, almost overnight. Just get it checked by a doc to see what's causing the sudden flare, okay?

Actually yaar, my dad woke up one morning with a super swollen and painful big toe, and it turned out to be gout, which is a type of arthritis. It literally came out of nowhere! So yes, it can definitely feel very sudden.

Sudden joint pain, especially with swelling, can sometimes be gout, which is linked to metabolic health. As a diabetic, I have to be very careful with sudden inflammation because it can affect blood sugar levels. Please consult a doctor to get a safe treatment plan.

If you get sudden severe joint pain, you should plan to see a doctor quickly. An initial consultation and uric acid test might cost around 700 to 1000 rupees. It is better to get these basic tests done early so you don't end up paying for expensive emergency visits later.

Don't panic if you are experiencing sudden joint pain. While it is scary, certain autoimmune or crystal-induced arthritis types do present very abruptly. Just rest the joint for now and book a doctor's appointment to get a proper diagnosis.

Haan beta, sudden pain can happen, especially in cold weather or if gout strikes suddenly at night. Don't worry too much, just keep the joint warm and go show the doctor in our local clinic tomorrow.

Yes, some inflammatory arthritis types can flare up very suddenly, mimicking a gym injury. If you didn't have any physical trauma or sprain but suddenly have severe joint pain and warmth, it is highly likely to be a joint inflammation issue. Best to get it diagnosed.
