Can arthritis cause muscle spasms?

Mujhe Ankylosing Spondylitis hai aur pichle kuch samay se mere sharir mein achanak se muscle spasms hote rehte hain, khaaskar raat mein. Kya arthritis ki wajah se muscle spasms bhi ho sakte hain?

I totally get it, those sudden muscle spasms around the joints can be incredibly painful and frustrating. When your joints are inflamed from arthritis, the nearby muscles often spasm to prevent further movement. It really helps to gently massage the area with warm mustard oil.

Yes, joint instability due to arthritis can trigger protective muscle splinting, which often leads to painful spasms. While hot compresses and gentle stretching can provide temporary relief, consulting your doctor is the best approach to get a proper treatment plan.

Please don't ignore these spasms. I once had severe muscle spasms near my arthritic spine, and it turned out a nerve was being pinched by the joint. It is much safer to visit your doctor and get a proper diagnosis before the condition worsens.

Those sudden spasms used to make me so anxious and scared to even walk or bend. It is exhausting to feel like you don't have control over your own muscles because of arthritis. Please be gentle with yourself, your pain and struggle are completely valid.

My grandmother always suggests applying warm sesame oil when my arthritic knee muscles spasm, which does give some comfort. However, I still rely on my doctor's prescription and regular checkups to manage the underlying arthritis properly.
