Can apple watch detect heart attack?

I recently bought an Apple Watch and heard it has many health features. I'm particularly interested in its ability to monitor heart health. Can an Apple Watch really detect a heart attack, or at least alert you to potential issues?

I totally get it, when we read about these smart features we hope they can keep our family safe from emergencies. But honestly, the watch cannot track the actual signs of a heart attack. If there is ever any sudden chest discomfort, breathlessness, or heavy sweating, please don't wait for a watch notification and go straight to the clinic.

An Apple Watch can monitor your heart rate and detect irregular rhythms like Atrial Fibrillation, but it is not designed to detect a heart attack. If you or someone around you is experiencing chest pain or pressure, you should never rely on a smartwatch. Please seek immediate emergency medical care in a real hospital.

I have thyroid issues which sometimes cause heart palpitations, so I understand the urge to track everything on a smartwatch. But these gadgets have limitations and cannot replace clinical tests like an ECG in a hospital. Regular doctor visits and proper blood tests are the only way to manage your cardiovascular health safely.

Smartwatches are amazing for tracking steps and general fitness daily! 🏃‍♀️ But nope, they definitely cannot detect a heart attack. If anyone feels unwell, a doctor is the only real superhero we should call! 🩺

As someone managing diabetes, I know how critical heart health is since we are at a higher risk for silent heart issues. The Apple Watch is good for general heart rate tracking, but it absolutely cannot substitute a doctor's diagnosis or an actual ECG machine. Do not rely on it if you feel any chest pressure or discomfort.

At fifty-four, my body makes all sorts of strange noises, and if I started relying on my son's smartwatch to tell me my health status, I'd be in constant panic! A watch is for checking time and showing off, not for diagnosing heart attacks. If you feel bad, just go to a real doctor, not a screen.

I am actually thinking of buying one for my grandfather because he has minor heart issues, and I thought it would alert us during an emergency. But after reading these comments, it seems it doesn't do that? Is there any other device that actually helps monitor elderly parents at home safely?

Buying an expensive watch thinking it will save you from a medical emergency is not practical. The watch is just a gadget and won't show a heart attack. Instead, keep the contact numbers of your local hospital and ambulance ready, and get regular health checkups done at a local lab.

This is exactly what I constantly worry about because heart health is so scary. I keep checking my pulse on my watch every hour, but I know it can't actually warn us about a heart attack. If you are feeling any discomfort or sudden breathlessness, please don't wait or overthink, just call a doctor or go to the hospital right away.

With our busy corporate routines, we want quick technological fixes for health, but smartwatches have their limitations. The Apple Watch explicitly states it cannot detect heart attacks. Don't waste critical time troubleshooting a gadget during an emergency; if there are symptoms, get to an ER immediately.

Actually yaar, many people think the ECG feature on the watch can catch a heart attack, but that's a big myth. It only looks for rhythm issues like Afib, not blockages. If you ever feel tight in the chest, just rush to the hospital immediately, don't look at the watch screen.

Please never rely on technology for this. I once ignored a heavy squeezing sensation in my chest, thinking it was just gas because my fitness band showed a normal heart rate, and it turned out to be a minor block. Go straight to a cardiac emergency room if you feel any sudden chest pain, sweating, or left arm numbness.
