Can anxiety give you a heart attack?

My father has a history of heart issues, and I've been feeling very anxious lately. I experience chest tightness and shortness of breath quite often. Can severe anxiety actually lead to a heart attack?

Do not listen to random opinions on the internet when it comes to your heart. While panic attacks are different from cardiac events, chronic high stress does take a toll on your cardiovascular system over time. Go to a qualified doctor, get your heart checked, and get professional medical advice.

Please do not ignore any chest tightness. I once brushed off my heavy breathing and chest discomfort as simple work stress, but it turned out to be a serious issue that required immediate medical attention. If you are experiencing chest pain or breathlessness, please go to a clinic and get checked right now.

Anxiety itself might not directly cause a sudden heart attack, but chronic stress can affect your blood pressure and overall health. I find that eating a clean, low-salt vegetarian diet and drinking warm herbal teas helps keep my body feeling calm. But yes, always confirm with a doctor first.

Beta, constant worry and anger weaken the heart over time, though a simple panic attack is not a heart attack. Keep your mind calm, drink a glass of warm milk with a pinch of turmeric at night, and avoid heavy oily food. But remember, for any real chest pain, doctor's advice is the first thing you need.

Haha, if anxiety could directly cause heart attacks, half of the Indian IT sector would be in the hospital by now! It feels like your heart is trying to escape your chest, but it is usually just adrenaline. Get a quick checkup done to satisfy your mind, and then try to chill out.

It is very common to feel this fear when you have severe anxiety. Please try to relax, but do visit a general physician once just to get your health checked so you can stop worrying about it.

Anxiety causes our heart rate to jump, which feels extremely frightening. In my experience, practicing slow, deep breathing (pranayama) daily helps train the nervous system to stay calm. However, please consult a cardiologist first to ensure your heart is fully healthy before starting any new routine.

Dude, I used to think my heart would literally explode during exam season because of panic attacks. It felt so real, but my doctor told me a panic attack doesn't just turn into a heart attack. Still, if your chest is hurting bad, don't sit on it, just go get an ECG done to clear your mind.
