Can anxiety feel like a heart attack?

Sometimes I get these sudden chest pains, heart palpitations, and extreme breathlessness. They feel so scary, like I'm having a heart attack. My doctor said it might be anxiety, but it's hard to believe anxiety can feel this serious.

Yes, it absolutely can feel identical. Try sitting down and taking slow, deep belly breaths to help calm your chest tightness.

Bro, the first time I had a major panic attack during exams, I literally thought my time was up. My chest felt so tight and my arm was tingling. It was super scary but turned out to be just extreme stress. If it's your first time feeling this, pls get it checked by a doc to be safe.

With my PCOS, hormonal shifts sometimes trigger crazy physical anxiety symptoms like chest pain and palpitations. It feels incredibly real and scary, like a heart issue. But since the symptoms are so similar, it is always best to let a doctor run an ECG just to make sure everything is physically fine.

Oh absolutely, anxiety is a master of disguise! It can make your heart race like you just ran a marathon 🏃‍♀️. Don't worry too much, but do visit a physician once so they can reassure you that your heart is perfectly healthy. Sending you positive vibes!

In my fifties, I rushed to the emergency room twice thinking I was having a heart attack, only for the doctors to tell me it was just stress. It is very common, but at my age, we can never take a chance. Always get checked by a doctor first, and once they clear you, focus on keeping your mind calm.

As someone who sees patients daily, I can tell you that panic attacks bring many people to the ER thinking it is a heart issue. The body goes into fight-or-flight, causing chest pain and rapid breathing. However, because the symptoms overlap, any chest pain must be evaluated by a healthcare professional immediately to be absolutely safe.

The chest tightness from a panic attack is very real and mimicking. Once you have consulted a doctor and they have confirmed your heart is fine, light activities like yoga or a slow walk in nature can really help release that pent-up physical tension in the chest.
