Can anxiety cause vomiting after eating?

After some stressful meals or when I'm feeling very anxious, I sometimes feel like I need to vomit right after eating. It's quite uncomfortable. Can anxiety cause vomiting specifically after eating?

I used to throw up after eating and blamed it on stress, but it turned out to be a severe ulcer and gallstones. Frequent vomiting can cause electrolyte imbalance and damage your food pipe. Please consult a doctor immediately.

My mother always tells me to eat light curd rice slowly when my stomach is upset from worry. However, throwing up after meals is not normal and can be quite weak. It is best to consult a doctor to find the exact reason, na?

Yes, stress can definitely trigger vomiting right after eating. Try eating very small portions and sitting quietly for 15 minutes after meals.

It is like your stomach is saying, 'Nope, we don't have room for food and stress at the same time!' Try eating smaller, lighter bites and maybe watch some comedy while eating to distract your overactive brain. Keep hydrated!

I went through a terrible phase where I would throw up almost every dinner because of heavy evening anxiety. It was emotionally exhausting and scary. Please know your feelings are valid, and it does get better once you address the anxiety.
