Can anxiety cause tooth pain?

My dentist says my teeth are perfectly fine, but I still feel a dull ache in them, especially when I'm stressed. Could anxiety actually be causing my tooth pain?

When my blood pressure goes up due to stress, I notice I clench my teeth a lot, which leads to a dull toothache. It is important to monitor your lifestyle and get your regular health checkups done, as physical tension is closely connected to overall health.

Unless you have a sweet tooth that loves late-night chocolates, anxiety is likely making you grind your teeth like a machine! Try to catch yourself doing it during the day and keep your teeth apart. Otherwise, you'll be funding your dentist's next vacation!

When we lift heavy or deal with mental stress, we tend to clench our teeth, which strains the jaw and teeth. Make sure you are keeping your neck and jaw loose during the day. Keeping hydrated and doing basic neck stretches really helps.

Yes, dear, stress makes many of us clench our teeth, especially while we sleep. Try doing some gentle massage on your jaw joint before bed with a little warm oil. It helps relax the facial muscles and reduces the tooth pain.

Yes, tooth pain from anxiety is usually due to bruxism, which is teeth grinding when you are stressed. If you sit at a desk all day clenching your jaw, try to consciously relax your mouth. A quick visit to a dentist for a night guard is a practical fix.

I have PCOS and often notice that hormonal stress makes me clench my jaw, causing tooth sensitivity. I don't want to say it is definitely just anxiety because it could be a cavity, so please be cautious and get a dentist to look at it.

Please do not assume tooth pain is just from anxiety, as it could be a dental infection or a deep cavity. Infections in the teeth can spread quickly. Please go to a dentist to get an X-ray and proper checkup.

Yes, stress can make us hold a lot of tension in our jaw and teeth. Try to do some warm water rinses to soothe the area. I hope the pain goes away soon.
