Can anxiety cause heart attack or stroke?

I've been experiencing severe panic attacks, and my heart races during these episodes. I'm really scared about the long-term effects. Can anxiety and panic attacks lead to something as serious as a heart attack or stroke?

My son gets such intense panic attacks that his chest gets tight and he feels completely numb, which always terrifies us. While anxiety itself doesn't directly cause a sudden heart attack or stroke, the physical strain of constant panic isn't good. Please take your health seriously and consult a doctor to get a professional checkup.

My heart rate and stress levels spike significantly on my fitness tracker during periods of high anxiety, which mimics cardiovascular symptoms. While chronic stress can impact your long-term blood pressure, anxiety doesn't directly trigger a stroke or heart attack instantly. I highly recommend visiting a doctor to get a proper baseline check.

Oh God, whenever I get anxious, my chest starts pounding so fast that I start worrying about heart attacks, which just makes me want to eat a big bowl of ice cream for comfort! Stress really mimics those scary medical emergencies. Please do yourself a favor and see a doctor so you can stop worrying and enjoy your life.

Dude, I've had panic attacks where my left arm went numb and my chest felt heavy, and I was convinced I was having a stroke. It turns out hyperventilating from anxiety causes those exact scary feelings. Definitely get it checked by a doctor just to be safe, but know that anxiety plays wild tricks on your mind.

Our physical body responds heavily to the storm of thoughts in our mind, making our heart race and our head spin. While anxiety is a mental state and doesn't directly cause a stroke, keeping ourselves calm is essential for long-term health. Please stay positive, take care of your body, and seek a doctor's guidance.

I have replied to many worried souls on this forum who fear that their panic attacks will lead to a heart attack or stroke. The physical sensations of anxiety are incredibly powerful and scary, but they are rarely dangerous on their own. However, please consult a physician to run basic tests and give you complete peace of mind.
