Can antifungal cream help eczema?

I have eczema on my hands, and sometimes it gets really itchy and red. A friend suggested I try an antifungal cream she had at home. Will an antifungal cream actually help with eczema, or should I stick to something else?

Actually, antifungal creams won't work on eczema, yaar. Eczema is an inflammatory issue, not a fungus thing. I tried using my brother's ringworm cream on my eczema patch once and it just made the skin super dry and red.

Using random creams on eczema might worsen the skin barrier. Along with the right moisturizer from a doctor, I focus on avoiding inflammatory foods like sugar and refined flour, which helps soothe my skin from the inside out.

Do not self-diagnose skin rashes. Eczema and fungal infections look similar but require completely opposite treatments; steroids for eczema can worsen fungus, and antifungals won't touch eczema. Get a dermatologist to look at it under a dermatoscope.

Beta, don't put just any tube cream on your face or body. Eczema is different and needs a very gentle, cooling touch. It is better to show it to a proper doctor in town so it doesn't spread.

When you have diabetes, skin infections and eczema take much longer to heal. I never experiment with random creams because a wrong step can cause skin breakdown. Always keep your blood sugar in check and ask your doctor for an eczema-specific steroid or emollient.

My skin has become a testing laboratory for all kinds of tubes in my cabinet! But honestly, antifungal cream on eczema is like using petrol to put out a fire. Save yourself the itching and get a proper prescription.
