Can an ovarian cyst cause hip pain?

After being recently diagnosed with an ovarian cyst, I've also started getting a dull ache in my hip on the same side. I'm not sure if the two are related. Can an ovarian cyst actually cause pain that radiates to the hip?

Yes, a larger ovarian cyst can put pressure on the pelvic nerves, which often radiates to the hip and lower back. Gentle stretching like Marjariasana can sometimes help soothe the pelvic area, but you must consult your gynecologist to see if the cyst needs medical attention.

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai. Jab cyst badhta hai toh pelvic area ke nerves pe pressure padta hai, jiski wajah se hip aur back mein bohot dard hota hai na. Ek baar ultrasound karwa lo, sab clear ho jayega.

I had pelvic pain that spread to my right hip and thigh, and the doctors at the hospital diagnosed it as a 5cm cyst after an ultrasound. Please ask your doctor clearly if your hip pain is connected to the cyst or if it is a muscular issue. A proper scan will tell you exactly what's happening.

In our clinic, we see many patients with ovarian cysts complaining of referred pain in the hips and lower back due to nerve pathways. If the pain is sharp or sudden, please don't wait and see a doctor immediately. Otherwise, get an appointment scheduled for a pelvic scan.

Ugh, ovarian cysts are the worst! Mine makes my hip ache so much that I can't even stand in the kitchen to bake my favorite chocolate chip cookies. Definitely talk to your doctor about managing the pain, and grab some comforting hot soup in the meantime.
