Can an eye stroke lead to a brain stroke?

A relative of mine recently had something called an 'eye stroke' and it sounded very serious. Now I'm worried if this kind of stroke in the eye can somehow lead to a brain stroke later on. Is there a connection between the two?

An eye stroke, or retinal artery occlusion, shares the exact same risk factors as a brain stroke, like high blood pressure or cholesterol. When I had an eye stroke, my doctor immediately did cardiovascular tests to make sure my carotid arteries were clear. Please don't ignore it, get a thorough systemic health checkup done right away.

Bro, my grandfather had a sudden vision loss in one eye which the doctor called an eye stroke. They kept him in the hospital for observation because they said the risk of getting a full brain stroke is very high in the next few weeks. Definitely get medical help immediately.

It can indeed be a warning sign for a brain stroke since they share similar blood circulation paths. Please consult a stroke specialist or cardiologist soon to ensure your blood pressure and heart are fully monitored.

Yes, it can. An eye stroke is a major warning sign of vascular issues, so you must get a full neurological and heart evaluation done immediately.

As if worrying about regular strokes wasn't enough, now we have eye strokes too! But jokes aside, yes, the blood vessels in the eye and brain are connected, so a block in one warning sign means the other needs checking too. Go get your BP and cholesterol sorted before your body gives you more surprises.
