Can an ear ache cause tooth pain?

Since morning, my right ear has been hurting, and now I'm also feeling a sharp pain in my back molars on the same side. I already have sensitive teeth. Can an earache somehow affect my teeth and cause pain there?

Haan babu, the nerves in our face are all connected like branches of a tree. Sometimes a bad earache makes the teeth hurt, or a bad tooth makes the ear hurt. Go to a nearby doctor, they will find the real culprit easily.

I totally panicked last month thinking I had three cavities because my jaw and teeth were aching along with my ear. Turns out it was just a simple ear infection, and as soon as the ear swelling went down, my tooth pain completely disappeared. It's very common!

Yes, absolutely. The nerves of the ear and teeth are very closely linked, so pain in one often feels like it's coming from the other.

Oh god, I've had this and I spent three days googling if I had some rare nerve disorder! It is highly likely just referred pain because the trigeminal nerve connects both areas. Definitely see a doctor or dentist to ease your mind so you don't overthink it like me.

Because of my thyroid, I regularly visit the clinic and have learned how easily referred pain travels in the head and neck area. An ear infection can definitely mimic tooth pain. Please get it checked by a doctor instead of guessing, and keep up with your regular health checkups too.
