Can an allergic reaction cause a fever?

Last night, after eating something new, I broke out in hives and then developed a low-grade fever. My friend said allergic reactions don't cause fever, but I'm feeling a bit warm today. Is it possible for an allergy to make you feverish?

True, real allergies don't usually cause fever directly. If you have a fever, it's highly likely an infection, so please consult a doc.

When you have a fever, your body needs absolute rest to heal. Avoid any workouts or walks for now. Let the doctor evaluate the allergy and fever first, and only get back to light walking when they give the green light.

In our home, my grandmother says warm water with a pinch of turmeric helps mild throat irritation. But for a fever with allergic symptoms, you must meet a physician. Fever usually points to some viral or bacterial thing.

Actually allergies keep the body irritated but fever means something else is going on inside. Just take steam with plain water and check your temperature. If it crosses 100, better go to a local clinic instead of trying home hacks.

Keep your mind calm and don't panic. Sometimes our bodies get exhausted fighting allergies, but a real fever is usually a sign of an infection. Take rest, drink warm water, and trust that you will feel better soon after a doctor's checkup.
