Can altitude sickness cause fever?
We are planning a trek to the mountains next month, and I'm researching altitude sickness. I'm wondering if a fever can be one of the symptoms of altitude sickness.

During my treks in Ladakh, I've seen many people get bad headaches and nausea from altitude, but a high fever is not a typical symptom. If you have a fever, you might have caught a cold or infection due to the cold weather. Please rest, stay warm, and see a doctor if it persists.
At high altitudes, the body is under immense physical stress which can sometimes make you feel very warm and exhausted. However, a true fever usually points to an infection or extreme dehydration. Please practice slow, deep breathing, sip warm water, and seek medical help if the fever rises.
Haan na, mountain sickness can make you feel so bad, but fever is very rare. If you actually have a fever, it could be a cold from the chilly winds up there. Please take care, cover your ears, and consult a doctor if the temperature doesn't go down.
I was just reading about mountain sickness for my upcoming trip to Spiti. From what I found, headache and dizziness are common, but fever isn't a direct symptom of altitude sickness. It might be a regular viral bug, but definitely get it checked by a doc to be safe.
Altitude sickness se headache aur vomiting hoti hai, fever nahi hota bhai. Agar fever hai toh thand lag gayi hogi ya koi infection hoga. Turant kisi local doctor ko dikhao aur rest karo, isko halke mein mat lo.
