Can allergies cause eye pain?

During allergy season, my eyes get really itchy and watery, but sometimes they also feel quite painful, like a dull ache. Can allergies cause actual eye pain, not just irritation?

I had severe eye pain during the pollen season and went to Sankara Nethralaya. The doctor there clearly explained that allergic swelling can cause pressure behind the eyes, and they gave me specific drops. Please go to a good clinic and get it checked.

According to my ophthalmologist, allergic conjunctivitis can cause inflammation of the membrane covering the eye, leading to itching, redness, and a dull, aching pain. He advised using lubricating eye drops rather than rubbing the eyes, which worsens the irritation.

I completely understand how terrifying eye pain can be, especially when you start googling and worrying about your vision. Just try to breathe; it is most likely a simple allergic reaction or strain. Speak to an eye doctor to ease your mind.

My health tracker showed a high pollution index in my area, which perfectly matched the days I had itchy, painful eyes. Using blue-light glasses and tracking my symptoms helped me realize it was environmental allergies. Try logging your symptoms to find the pattern!

Hey, don't stress too much! Eye pain from allergies is super common, especially with all the dust around. Just splash some cold water, avoid staring at screens for a bit, and check with a doc if it doesn't feel better by tomorrow.
