Can allergies cause diarrhea and vomiting?

My younger sister sometimes gets severe stomach upsets with diarrhea and vomiting, and we've noticed it after she eats certain foods. Can food allergies manifest with these kinds of intense digestive symptoms?

For mild stomach upset, drinking ORS or coconut water is very good to stay hydrated. But if you are actually vomiting and having loose motion continuously, please go to a clinic immediately. It could be severe food poisoning or an acute allergic reaction.

Haan bhai, food allergies se vomiting aur diarrhea bilkul ho sakta hai. Mere dost ko peanuts se aisi hi problem hoti hai. Par agar halat zyaada kharab hai toh ruko mat, doctor ko dikha lo na.

Yes, severe food allergies can absolutely trigger sudden vomiting and diarrhea. Please see a doctor immediately if the symptoms don't stop.

Since I have thyroid issues, my digestion is already sensitive and food allergies can make it much worse. It is very important to get proper allergy tests done and follow up with a specialist to find out exactly what is causing this stomach upset.

When your gut is reacting to an allergen, it is best to rest completely and drink electrolytes. Once the vomiting stops and your doctor says it is fine, a light walk can help get your digestive system back on track, but don't force any workouts right now.
