Can allergies cause a migraine?

I often get migraines, and sometimes they seem to coincide with my allergy symptoms. My friend suggested there might be a link. Is it possible for allergies to trigger or cause a migraine attack?

Yes, sinus inflammation from allergies can definitely trigger a severe migraine. I ignored it once, thinking it was just a normal headache, and ended up with terrible sinus pressure. Please see a doctor to get the right allergy medication.

I have had sinus allergies and headaches for many years, my child. The congestion can build up pressure in your head and bring on a nasty migraine. Don't worry too much, taking warm steam and keeping your room dust-free helps a lot.

When I went to Max Hospital for my chronic headaches, the specialist explained that nasal allergies can absolutely trigger migraines due to sinus congestion. I highly recommend visiting a good neurologist or ENT specialist to ask them clearly about your triggers.

Oh, I totally feel your pain, migraine with allergy congestion is just the worst feeling. It makes you feel so exhausted and trapped in a dark room. You are not alone in this, please take rest and don't be hard on yourself.

My general physician explained that the release of histamines during an allergic reaction can dilate blood vessels and trigger a migraine. He suggested taking an antihistamine alongside my migraine medication. Definitely get a doctor's opinion on this connection.
