Can alcoholic hepatitis be cured?

My cousin was recently diagnosed with alcoholic hepatitis, and it sounds very serious. He's asking if there's any way to completely cure it if he stops drinking. What are the chances of a full recovery?

Listen, I absolutely panicked when my uncle got diagnosed with this last year, we thought it was the end. But once he stopped drinking completely and took his meds, his liver function tests actually came back to normal. It takes time but recovery is definitely possible!

Please don't trust random juice diets or internet remedies for liver issues, they can be dangerous. Alcoholic hepatitis is a serious medical condition that needs a proper gastroenterologist. Get a proper LFT and ultrasound done as advised by a doctor.

I know how stressful health diagnoses can be because of my own PCOS struggles. While I don't know the exact stage of your liver health, staying away from alcohol is the first major step. Be gentle with yourself and follow whatever your specialist recommends.

Beta, the liver has a wonderful capacity to heal itself, but only if you stop putting pressure on it. The very first step is zero alcohol, followed by a low-salt, high-protein diet as directed by your doctor. Don't lose hope, many people recover with timely treatment.

Straight talk: if the drinking continues, no medicine in the world can cure it. But if alcohol is stopped completely right now, the mild to moderate stages can heal. Go straight to a good hospital and get the liver checked before things get worse.
