Can advil cause stomach pain?

Whenever I take Advil for my joint pain, I always end up with a very uncomfortable stomach ache afterwards. Is this a common side effect of Advil, or should I be concerned?

I took Advil last night for a toothache and woke up with this terrible burning in my upper stomach. Is this normal or should I be worried? Has anyone else felt this kind of sharp acidity after taking it?

Yes, ibuprofen can irritate the gastric mucosa, leading to pain or acidity. It is always recommended to take it with food or an antacid. If the pain is severe or persists, it's best to consult your doctor instead of self-treating.

Hey, don't stress too much, it is super common! Advil is just really harsh on the stomach lining. Next time, make sure you eat a proper meal before taking it, or just ask your doc for a gentler alternative.

It definitely can because NSAIDs mess with stomach protection. I usually focus on natural recovery, proper sleep, and hydration for mild soreness, but if you must use Advil, never take it on an empty stomach.
