Can adhd cause sleep problems?

I was diagnosed with ADHD a few years ago, and I've always had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. I'm wondering if my ADHD is directly contributing to my sleep problems.

Bro, my brain literally runs a marathon at 3 AM. I can never shut off my thoughts and sleep on time because of my ADHD, it is the worst. I usually just scroll reels till my eyes burn, which I know is bad.

The hyperactive mind makes sleeping very difficult indeed. I have found that practicing 10 minutes of Anulom Vilom and deep belly breathing right before sleeping helps quieten the chaotic nervous system.

I used to struggle with severe sleep onset issues because of my racing thoughts. After working with a therapist on sleep hygiene and adjusting my ADHD medication timing to early morning, my sleep has finally improved drastically.

I ignored my insomnia for years thinking I was just a night owl, but it was actually undiagnosed ADHD draining my life. Please get a proper psychiatric evaluation done instead of just taking random sleeping pills like I did.

Haan na, our circadian rhythm is completely messed up because of this. Even if I feel physically tired, my mind just refuses to cooperate. Setting a strict no-screen rule before bed helps slightly.

It is honestly so exhausting to lie in bed for hours feeling guilty about not sleeping. The emotional toll of daytime fatigue from ADHD-induced insomnia is real, so please be kind to yourself on the bad days.
