Can adenomyosis cause nausea and vomiting?

Along with the usual pain, lately I've been experiencing a lot of nausea and sometimes even vomiting, especially around my period. I have adenomyosis. Is it possible for adenomyosis to cause these kinds of stomach issues?

Oh my god, yes, I get so nauseous during my periods that I can barely keep water down sometimes. I always worry it is some other stomach issue, but my doctor said the severe pelvic cramping can easily trigger nausea. It is so scary but sadly quite common with this.

I was actually reading about this yesterday because I felt so sick last week. Apparently, the high level of prostaglandins released during adenomyosis cramps can mess up your digestion and cause bad nausea. Glad to know I am not the only one experiencing this.

Between the heavy bleeding keeping me up all night and the morning nausea, I feel like I'm permanently pregnant without the baby. Yes, it definitely makes you feel barfy. Ginger tea is my only savior these days.

I can only share that during my worst adenomyosis flare-ups, the pain is so intense that it makes me throw up. Once I manage the pain with my prescribed heat belt, the sick feeling in my stomach also goes away.

When I had severe vomiting with my cycle, I went to Fortis and my doctor did a complete checkup. She explained that intense pain pathways can stimulate the vomiting center in our brain. You should definitely discuss this with your gynecologist to get the right anti-nausea medication.
