Can add affect sleep?

I have ADD and I often struggle with getting good sleep. Sometimes it feels like my mind just won't shut off at night. Does ADD itself affect sleep patterns or quality?

I struggle with racing thoughts every single night, and my mind just won't shut down when I try to sleep. Does anyone else with ADD lie awake for hours even when physically exhausted? It feels like my brain is running on a treadmill.

Bilkul sleep disturb hoti hai isme. Humare ghar mein bhi aisi problem thi, toh humne simple routine banaya. Dinner jaldi karo, 9 baje ke baad TV and phone bilkul band, aur thoda halka music suno. It works slowly but surely.

I ignored my terrible sleep issues and constant distraction for years, thinking it was just stress, and it ruined my mental health. Please don't do what I did. Get a proper evaluation done by a psychologist or psychiatrist to address the root cause of your ADD and sleep troubles.

ADD and attention issues can definitely disrupt your sleep cycles. However, as someone with thyroid issues, I also know that hormonal imbalances can mimic these exact sleep struggles. It is always wise to get your regular blood tests done and discuss these symptoms with your doctor.

Absolutely, ADD makes it very hard for the brain to transition into sleep. Reading a physical book in dim light has really helped me slow down.

I am actually very new to understanding ADD and I always struggle to fall asleep before 3 AM. Can this also cause bad headaches the next day? I would love to know how others here deal with the morning fatigue.

Beta, a hyperactive mind can surely make sleep run away. Try drinking a warm cup of haldi doodh before sleeping and massage a little mustard oil on your soles. Keep these modern mobile phones outside the room at night, it will help quieten your thoughts.

ADD se sleep toh sach mein kharab hoti hai, ho na. Hamara brain raat ko bhi continuous chalta rehta hai bina break ke. Deep breathing try karo thoda sa, usse mind thoda calm hota hai.

Poor sleep from ADD can also mess up your body's metabolism and blood sugar levels. I have to be extremely disciplined with my sleep to keep my diabetes in check. Try avoiding heavy dinners or late-night sugary snacks, as they only add fuel to a hyperactive brain at night.

With ADD, sleep issues will ruin your daytime productivity if you don't manage them. I use white noise apps and a heavy blanket to help my brain wind down quickly. Don't waste time trying to force sleep; if you can't drift off in 20 minutes, get up and do a boring task until you feel tired.

For me, ADD has always played havoc with my sleep schedule. I get this sudden burst of energy and focus late at night, and then I can't wake up in the morning. I've had to create a very strict screen-free routine before bed just to get some rest.

Yes, ADD heavily impacts sleep due to delayed melatonin onset and executive dysfunction. My psychiatrist explained that people with ADD often have a delayed sleep-phase syndrome, making them natural night owls. Also, stimulants used for treating ADD can interfere with sleep if taken too late in the day.
