Can acidity go away on its own?

I've been dealing with acidity for a while now, but I don't like taking medicines all the time. My grandmother used to say it will go away if you eat home food. Can acidity eventually just go away on its own without treatment?

In my experience, mild acidity usually goes away on its own in a few hours if I just drink some cold milk or sit upright. But when it becomes a daily thing, it never goes away without making lifestyle changes. I'm not a doctor, but that's just what I've observed with my own body.

I agree, mild cases usually settle down. Drinking lukewarm water throughout the morning really helps clear up the acid build-up.

Honestly, if I just eat late at night, I get bad acidity but it usually disappears by the next afternoon if I drink enough water. But when exam stress kicks in, it stays for days. If it's happening to u constantly, u should probably get it checked.

Haan na, sometimes minor acidity just goes away after resting. But agar daily chest mein jalan ho rahi hai, toh ignore mat karo. Safe side ke liye doctor se baat kar lena hamesha achha hota hai.

For mild acidity, chewing on a piece of ginger or drinking cold milk can help it go away quickly. However, if you are experiencing severe burning, vomiting, or chest pain, please do not rely on home tips and see a doctor immediately.

I am also dealing with this recently and was wondering the same thing. Mine has been happening for three days now even though I am eating normal food. Does anyone know if home remedies like fennel seeds actually work or should I directly see a doctor?

Temporary acidity from one bad meal goes away, but chronic issues don't. Instead of wasting money on random expensive health drinks, it is much cheaper to plan a proper consultation with a general physician first. They can tell you exactly which basic tests are actually needed so you don't overspend.

Even though mild acidity might seem to resolve, it's risky to assume it's harmless. Frequent chest burning can sometimes mask other underlying issues. For your own safety, please get a professional opinion from a doctor.

If it's a one-off thing because you had a heavy dinner, it'll clear up on its own. But if you are getting acidity every second day, don't expect a miracle. Fix your sleep cycle, stop skipping breakfast, and talk to a gastroenterologist.

I struggle with thyroid issues, which often slows down digestion and causes severe acidity. It rarely goes away on its own when there is an underlying issue. I highly recommend getting regular blood checkups and consulting a doctor rather than ignoring it.

My grandmother always used to give me warm cumin water when I complained of chest burning, and it does help mild symptoms temporarily. However, if the burning persists for days, it is always better to trust a qualified doctor's advice rather than waiting for it to heal itself.

I kept waiting for my chest burn to go away on its own for two weeks, but it only got worse. I finally went to a doctor, took the prescribed course for a week, and now I feel completely fine. Don't wait around for it to magically disappear if it's been happening for days.
